Why Should Students Blog?

I think that the biggest advantage to blogs is that they provide an authentic audience for student writing and work in general. In the past the teacher was usually the only person who read student work. With a blog, student work can be read by classmates, parents, extended family members, school community members, project partners, classroom teachers, pre-service teachers, and anyone around the world who locates the class blog. Washing Dishes

The job that I hate the most is washing the dishes it is gross. It is gross because sometimes the dishes have left over food then you have to scrape it off. The dishes also smell gross. Doing the dishes is the most boring chore you just stand there washing the dishes. Sometimes I try to get out of doing the dishes by saying my stomach hurts or I try to get my sister to do it if she doesn’t want to wash them for free I try to ask her if she wants money to do the dishes.
Worst Job
by Shane
I’ve had plenty of bad jobs, for example I scoop the dog’s poop as a daily chore but no job will be worst then when I had to clean out cooler. Every year we close up the cooler for the winter and have to clean it out before we use it. Last year I had to clean it out me for spring break the moment in opened it up dried pigeon poop went every where. I had to take off all 4 cooler pads get them off the roof, without dropping them, and wash them. It took, at lest, a half hour for each pad to be clean and to dry. Then came the hard part, I had to dared each 40 pound cooling pad up the ladder, the catch with one hand. With that done, 20 minutes later, I realized I had forgotten to clean the main part of the cooler! It to me anther 4 hours to clean out the main part of the cooler and when your afraid of heights it is so not cool! Finally I got it to work with a lot of luck and a lot of duck tape. I partially shoved everything of the roof and went down the ladder so fast my sister commented that she never saw me go down a ladder so fast. All in all it took me 6 hours to complete. It was some of the worst hour of my life!
Cleaning My Room

The job that I dislike the most is cleaning my room. This job takes a long time to do and is boring. I always have to clean my room because my mom freaks out. If I don’t clean it she’ll yell me just get mad. Once I get tired of the yelling I start to clean.
When I clean I get really bored so I hate doing it. I always have to have a friend over or watch television. My room is always so messy so it’s even worse. It seems like it takes forever but its not that bad.
Once I strip my sheets and put them in the washer I can take a brake. Then I switch them to the drier and get back to work. Once everything is in its place I make my bed and I’m finally done.
It feels good to have it clean and my mom is happy. After it’s cleaned I try to keep it that way.
10 minutes

5/29/09---
I think the hardest thing I have ever had to do is write a speech that is ten minutes long. It’s called a Valedictorian Speech and I have to write one because I have the highest grades in the class. It needs to be about my class and our motto and tie into our education, future, and what we hope we can accomplish.
I knew that I would have to be Valedictorian and write that speech because Paul got a B+ in English at the beginning of the year. All because of a book report that he didn’t turn in. I’ve been writing this speech for about two weeks and I’m almost finished. You’d think that I’d have a lot of pages written because it’s about people that I have spent eight years of my life with but it really isn’t. I went for three whole hours of trying to work on it but never being able to write anything I liked. I was so mad that I was going to go talk to Hubbard and tell him that I refused to be Valedictorian. But then my mom came in and asked me how much I had done. I showed her a blank page.
My mom started asking me questions like what I was going to write about and stuff that had happened to my class that had to do with the speech. I told her what I was thinking and she said I should write that down. She left and I thought about it for a while when I realized she was right. It was much easier to write from then on but I would still get stuck once-and-a-while.
…
6/2/09---
I finished my speech last night and just read it to Mr. Hubbard. He thought it was pretty good and said it had a lot of excellent material. He also said he liked the way I opened my speech by talking about our decisions affecting our future. He said all the stuff in my speech was true and that he really liked it. The biggest thing he had to say though isn’t so good; he said that if my theme (thesis) was my class motto (which it is) then I would have to do some changing around to make that really clear because at this point it’s not very clear.
…
6/3/09
Last night I started fixing up my speech because he wanted all my changes to be done by Thursday. I’m doing pretty good but I still have some questions.
My Worst Job

Cutting tiles for the new remodeled bathroom
My dad assigned me to cut tiles with a tile cutter and I’m thinking that it would be easy. It ended up that when I cut it I had to break it also. I still thought it would be easy, but when I tried to break it would break crooked or break it in half where I didn’t want it too. Then since it did that I would have to cut it with a table saw and that was hard because sparks would be flying and it took a long time to cut it all the way. I also only had about 2 hours to cut all the tiles. Then I put it in it would be too big. Then I realized when we had extra tiles when I messed up I’d try to do it again with a different tile, but it kept messing up. I was getting really mad then my mom decided that we just put a messed up piece on anyway. Then when the 2 hours were almost out a piece was too small, but we put it up anyway. Now I get to look at my crooked piece right next to the bathroom window. It was hard and the chore that I most disliked and am hopeful that I will never do that again.
Chore

The chore I get most frustrated with is cleaning my room. The reason why I don’t like cleaning my room is because usually it takes 1 hour to make the bed. When I make my bed I have to spray Febreeze on it so it smells good or I have to change the sheets. I also have to organize my desk. I hate organizing my desk because it usually is messy. Another one of my chores is I have to put my clean clothes away in my closet. My mom used to do that for me but then she decided we have to do it. I also have to organize my closet. When I organize my closet I am so bored. It’s the most annoying part of the chore. Then the last part of cleaning my room is vacuuming. I hate vacuuming also because I have to move furniture around and then put it back and the sound is plain annoying. Cleaning my room is the most annoying and frustrating chore I have to do.
Raking Leaves

The worst job I ever had was when I had to rake all the leaves on the yard. I hate doing that because I had to be out in the sun instead of watching TV. I also have to put the leaves in trash bags. Then I have to throw it away and carry these huge bags of leaves to the trash cans. That is why I hate to rake leaves.
My Hardest Job

I think the hardest thing to do is babysitting my brothers because I have to make sure everything is alright at all times. Like if my brothers are fighting I have to make them stop, or I have to change the T.V channel for my baby brother. There is a lot of things I have to do that it’s hard trying to list them all but the one ting I can’t stand the most is making dinner for my them. I can’t stand it because Brad eats like 5 times more then the normal man eats, Nick eats like 5 times less then the normal kid eats, and I need to make just enough food for all of us. Also I’m the one who has to clean up after dinner too like put the food away if there is any left, do the dishes, and sweep the floor. But after the night I kind of feel good because I’m made it through the day and no one got or anything and I think it makes me a better person because I did it. And that’s why babysitting is the hardest job.

Poor Bryan!

Sometimes when my mom leaves for a few days I need to keep the house in shape. I need to walk the dog and make sure they stay in the house because they like to run off. They also like to get in the trash so I need to keep them away from it. When she leaves my friends come over and help me make a mess around the house and my mom hates it when my house is dirty when she comes home. So I do the dishes and keep the living room clean.
Sometimes she will leave me with some stuff to do for her like leave a check for someone or wait for someone to come by the house so I need to stay home. But the cool thing about her being gone is that I can play music as loud as I want.

Washing Dishes

OH MY GOD, WASHING DISHES IS ONE OF MY MOST BORING CHORE! When I wash dishes I just stand there and look at the boring dishes, soap, and water. Sometimes I feel like I can just stand their and die of boringness! One time I stood in front of the sink and I was gazing out the window and I forgot that the water was still on. I usually do dishes at least once every week and I can’t stand it!
I try to get my sister to do dishes too but, she says,” NO! DO IT BY YOURSELF!!” First, I usually clean out the sink with Comet. Next, I fill the left side of the sink with water and Dawn soap. Last, I put as much dishes as I can in the sink full of water and soap. Then the boring work starts! When I wash dishes I also dry them and put them away. All done!
The Job That Is the Hardest For Me Is Walking the Pigs

When I have to walk my pigs it is so hard for me. Having to chase them around and then trying to make them lose weight or practice showmanship with them running around. I know you are all thinking well that is not hard well it is for me because I have no stamina. So when I do the pigs I pretend that I’m not felling good. Even though I do it4 months out of the year every year it is really tier for me.
So I will explain what you have to do when I do it. I ride my quad to my auntie’s house I go to the barn and I get the pigs up have them get some food and water before the run walk. I have to open the gate and get them out of their house because the pigs like their nice cool house. Once they are out the pigs go strait to the MUD! The nice mud the always messy item to be with the pig so you have to try to get them out and that could take a while. Once you get your pigs out you want to keep them running for about an hour and keep them out of the mud.
So after you walk them or run them you can give the pigs a break let them lay in the mud or water whatever they want. After you did your little running let them back in feed them and say goodnight to them. I gave you the routine that I do some things are hard and some are easy I hope you like my summary now I have to play in the MUD!
The Hardest Chore

The one chore I dread the most is washing dishes. I hate doing dishes, because they are extremely boring and a little disgusting. One main reason doing dishes is boring, is that you are just standing at a sink washing plates, cups, bowls, and cutlery. There really is no other movement to do which make the entire job very tedious. Though other chores aren’t very fun either, at least there is actually movement besides washing and drying. I also really do not like washing dishes because of how disgusting it is. When you are washing dishes you are pretty much just sticking your hand in water that has chunks of old food in it. And, if you do not have gloves to wear when you are doing dishes your hands might discover some very gross things inside the dirty dishwater. When I do dishes I really can’t think about what I am putting my hands in, I just do them absent mindedly. Also, when I do dishes I often will listen to music to make the time go by faster. Overall, though washing dishes isn’t the chore of my choice, I often can make it go by quick and make it seem a little funner.
Hard Chores! (Chores That Are Hard)

One of the hardest chores to me is cleaning the bathroom. I hate cleaning the bathroom because it is boring, time consuming and some parts of it are hard. The first thing I have to do is sweep and spray tile-x. Then I mop the floor. After mopping the floor it is time to scrub the toilet. While I scrub the toilet I feel sort of disgusted because I think of all the people who have been on the seat and all the things that have fallen on in the toilet. The next part is simple. All I have to do is wipe down the sink with comet and water. Then I do these in whatever order I feel like it. I have to clean the mirrors, refill the dispensers, change towels, and make sure there is extra toilet paper. One of the worst parts is scrubbing the shower because the stains are hard to get off the ground, and then when you rinse the shower all the dirt doesn’t come go into the drain. That part is frustrating, but the most frustrating part is cleaning up all the hair. The hairs won’t come of anything and if you sweep it out in the beginning it’ll come back while you’re mopping. Then the hair gets wet and it’s hard to get off of the toilet and floor. This is really, really, really frustrating. This whole process takes about an hour. The whole time I’m wishing that I could do other chores. I also feel like going to sleep. I guess the reason I picked this one above the others is because it is frustrating, boring, and time consuming.
Let's Clean Up

Once upon a time there was a girl named Autumn. Now Autumn had 2 lambs and her sister Allie had one. Every day they had to take the lambs on a walk. One blazing day the girls’ parents were not feeling well. The girls decided to take there brother and their lambs for a walk. They went down past their house, past the mailbox, past the speed sign and almost to the creek. By this time the girls were very thirsty so they voted and decided to go back to the animal pens. After putting away the lambs the girls went inside to wash their hands. Well their mother wasn’t expecting them back yet so she got mad and said that they hadn’t even gone past the mailbox and it wasn’t long enough. After her outburst their mother decided that the girls should take better care of there animals. So the girls cleaned the excrement out of the pens, Bleached the water buckets. And washed the lambs when they were done the lambs were much happier.
Hard Chores

There are a lot of hard chores to do around the house. But, one of the hardest chores I have to do is give the dogs a bath. The reason this chore is so difficult is because the dogs don’t enjoy bathes. My two dogs, Max and Sam, will do anything they can to keep the cold water off of them. I have to tie my dogs to a poll and hold them in one spot when I try to give them a bath. Sam has to be held by someone else while I shampoo her and rinse her off. Then, when I’m done rinsing her off, she shakes off on everything and rubs all over the furniture. When she does that, everything gets wet, hairy, and starts to smell like wet dog. Next to puppy breath, wet dog is the worst smell that comes from a dog (farts and the smell of poop only lasts a few minutes).

Babysitting

The most difficult job I’ve had to do will probably be baby-sitting. I had to take care of two kids. The girl was 4 years old and the boy was 2 years old. Their names are Danny and Chochi. Their mom Fabiola was going somewhere with my mom so that’s where I had to baby-sit them.
The first thing I did with them was watch kid movies. They wanted to watch Winnie the Pooh. During the movie they wanted soda and popcorn. I got irritated and started to think “I can’t take this anymore”. Then my mom called me and said “Danielle, Fabiola just told me she was going to pay me $30 for baby-sitting. Then I thought $30 is worth it.
After the movie was done they were hungry. I asked them what they wanted Danny said “cereal” and Chochi said “Soup”. So I made her soup and gave Danny Cookie Crisp Cereal. They were full after that.
After they had dinner they started watching cartoons. They were watching Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants. They were starting to get tired so I got them blankets and made them a little bed so they can be comfortable watching TV.
At last, they finally fell asleep. I was so relieved and tired myself. Once their mom got home she gave me $30 and I took them and said thank you. That was the hardest job I did.

Review
Little Manhattan is a perfect example of a love story. It is a great family film for all ages.
Most love stories have adults as main characters. This one however has 11 year old actors as main characters. Their names in the story are Gabe and Rosemary. The experience Gabe has in this movie is first love. They start hanging out and for weeks Gabe has been trying to do the same thing we all tried to do. All he wants is to tell Rosemary how he feels. Every chance he gets he blows it.
I like the movie because its different then other love stories. One because it has to do with kids and two the setting is modern. And it’s not all a love story. There is comedy in it to. And every movie is good with some comedy.
What I didn’t like about the movie is the ending. Even though it’s different and not expected, I think a little change could make the movie a whole lot better.
In my opinion, Little Manhattan is a good film because it has to do with kids. Everyone knows what its like to be young. When you were young you thought the same thing as both of the main characters in the film. In this case, first love. When I was 10 or 11, like Gabe did with the buildings and pirate ships, I used to make believe as well. I also understood love songs after I knew what love was like. I also used to believe in cooties.

Little Manhattan
I liked the movie “Little Manhattan”, it had adventure and love which made it enjoyable. The romance of the two kids made me laugh and made me sad when they “broke-up”.
This movie showed that love is a painful thing we all want. The main character, Gabe, has grown-up not liking girls and is now getting feelings for Rosemary. He doesn’t want to admit it because girls are disgusting to all the boys. When she is in his karate he knows he likes her.
They go to a baby birthday party and they get ice cream together. They walk all around Central Park in New York and talk about their lives. Once they get close Rosemary tells him she is going to camp. They start to hang out more and Gabe goes to dinner with Rosemary and her parents. During the dinner they hold hands and afterwards Gabe kisses her.
Gabe gets angry with Rosemary and tells her he hates her. He starts feeling sorry and knows he doesn’t have much time to apologize. She is going to go to camp the day after her aunt’s wedding. Gabe goes to say sorry. While he is there they dance and are friends again, then Gabe goes home. Once he goes home he sees his parents laughing. This is weird because they are divorced. They all three go to dinner and are happy again.

Little Manhattan
Little Manhattan is about two 11 year olds finding their first love. Gabe played by Josh Hutcherson has always thought girls were disgusting until the day Rosemary Telesco (Charlie Ray) joins his karate class. From that moment on everything in Gabe’s life is turned upside down.
At Gabe’s school everything changed in 2nd grade because in the classrooms it was boys on one side girls on the other. Boys were awesome but all the girls had cooties. But when Gabe decides to take karate and Rosemary Telesco ends up in the same class his head starts spinning. They start hanging out outside of class and Gabe even takes her on a tour of Central Park. But when a ked named Tim Staples joins the class things start to change and Gabe has to find a way to keep her in his life.
I thought this movie was excellent because the ending is a complete surprise. I also thought the movie did a good job of showing us what Gabe was thinking like the way a really good book does. In a way this movie could have been very cheesy but it never was. I thought the main subplot of the story was also very good. If I was ever going to recommend a kids love story, this would be the one.
As far as criticism, there isn’t really much to say. I mean there are a few things here and there that I would change. Like the martial arts guy who kept coming in at random times because it was sort of annoying and distracting. I think that the rest of the movie was very good. I don’t think there is anything else that I would change.
Little Manhattan

This week I am reviewing a cute movie called little Manhattan. This movie can easily be mistaken for a Childs mild movie. Yet this is a movie of realistic passion. A strong bond, two people in separate worlds first friends for two happy years in kinder garden and first grade. Then invisible incompatible life forms then colleagueship then love a passion so strong no one can pull away.
First let me tell you about this lovely story. It’s about a boy who loves a girl and she doesn’t love him. Its first love and Gabe is crushed. He cries for days. He discovers the secrets of love with his parents and knows rosemary Telesco will have a very special place in his heart forever.
In this movie there were several things that I like. One of the things I like is the special effects. The reason I liked them is that they give a certain insight into Gabe’s head this in turn enhances the movies limits. I also like the way the writers don’t look down upon the kids, they see them as equals. The last important thing that I like is it seems real and very well could be.
There were also things I didn’t like. Such as Gabe’s dad making him focusing on one thing his whole life. A place kicker and even though the outfit of being a place kicker got old, too small, and scratchy he wouldn’t let Gabe shed his placekicking skin. He just pushed and shoved. Also I didn’t like how his mom said that love sucks. That could cause young people to not even think about the opposite gender and stop the circle of life! All in all I think this was a good movie and you should defiantly watch it.
Little Manhattan
Love, it’s something we all want, but it can be confusing, frustrating, and heart breaking. And what movie shows the ups and downs of love better than the movie, “Little Manhattan”. “Little Manhattan” is a Romantic comedy, starring Josh Hutcherson and Charlie Ray. It was also directed by Mark Levin, and written by Jennifer Flackett. The movie is sappy, sweet, and everything that a romantic comedy is.
“Little Manhattan” takes place is present day New York. The movie displays the lives of Gabe, (Josh Hutcherson), and Rosemary, (Charlie Ray), and there bumpy pre-teen love. Through the whole movie you hear Gabe’s point of view about Rosemary and his infatuation with her. You get to witness love at its most awkward, and at its finest. But the whole love story begins when Gabe decides to join a Karate class. There he meets Rosemary, a friend of his from kindergarten, who becomes his sparring partner. When he sees her, he immediately forms a crush on her. From that point on, him and Rosemary start to hangout more, and become closer friends. But as they become closer friends Gabe’s feelings for Rosemary grow even deeper.
The movie as a whole is an enlightening, sweet, romantic, comedy for the whole family to watch. Especially because, “Little Manhattan”, showed love for what it actually is; awkward and just flat out awesome. Rosemary and Gabe demonstrate what it is like to love someone, and how hard it is to love someone. Another great thing about “Little Manhattan” is you get to hear Gabe’s point of view through the whole movie. Hearing what he thinks is great because you get to feel the love and passion he has for Rosemary.
Anyone watching the movie that has not been in love will learn all about this crazy experience. And anyone who has been in love, in either the past or present, will relive the memory of the entire experience. When you watch “Little Manhattan” you will definitely have a smile brought to your face.
Though the movie was great altogether, it did have some weak points. One of the weakest points of the movie was its ending. Through the whole movie you get to witness Gabe and Rosemary’s relationship, but when it comes to the ending you don’t really know what happens to the stance of the relationship. It just sort of leaves you hanging. You really have to understand the context of what Gabe and Rosemary are telling each other to know what is happening. You especially have to pay attention to Rosemary, because what she says really affects their relationship. Though complicated, the ending wraps up the movie nicely, and makes it a little off-beat.
“Little Manhattan” review
In the movie “Little Manhattan” the two main characters Rosemary and Gabe have known each other since kindergarten and they have been friends since then but in the first grade everything changed he started thinking that girls had cooties. Five years later he joins a karate class and everything starts to change when Rosemary becomes his karate partner. The directors of the movie were Mark Levin and Jennifer Flakett.
“Little Manhattan” takes place in present day New York. In the beginning Gabe thinks that girls have cooties but that changes when he joins a karate class. That’s when he noticed Rosemary. He starts hanging out with her and starts developing a crush on her. The more and more time Gabe spends hanging out with her he falls in love with her.
I liked the movie because it showed what Gabe’s experience of falling in love for the first time was like. I also liked that it showed what Gabe was thinking or imagining. Another thing about the movie that I liked is that the movie is for everyone to watch.
I didn’t like that Gabe and Rosemary get barely any time to spend together because Rosemary had so many things to do. I also didn’t like that Rosemary’s parents were there and the nanny.
Little Manhattan
Little Manhattan is a funny Romanic comedy. The main characters are Gabe,( josh hutcherson) and the girl he falls in Rosemary Telesco,( Charlie ray). There is also a great subplot played by Gabe’s parents (Cynthia Nixon) (Bradley Whitford).
Little Manhattan is about an 11 year old boy (Gabe) who gets this weird feeling in his stomach once he see Rosemary Telesco in his karate class. He doesn’t know what this feeling is and his parents are the last ones to ask. They are getting a divorce but to a crack in N.Y.’s divorce system says neither of them can move until all the papers are signed. Gabe and Rosemary become sparring partners and Rosemary invites him to her house. Soon they go every where together. You have to be there for an 11 year old love story that you’ll laugh your pants off for.
This movie is good. It was a great Romantic comedy about something most of us experience. Gabe does a great job in the movie. For a childhood actor he is great. The movie is definatly something to take your children to. Also, it is a pretty good movie for adults too. All in all, it was a good movie.
The only bad thing about is that it is kind of a big travel brochure to New York. It for sure tried to show famous places such as the planetarium. It made me want to visit for sure. But besides that I don’t have anything to complain about.
All in all it is a good movie. I would give it thumbs up. This is a great movie you need to see with your kids if you do get to see this awesome romantic’s comedy.
Little Manhattan review
The name of the movie is little Manhattan. It was filmed in New York. It is an interesting movie.
Gabe and Rosemary are the main characters they are karate friends. Gabe thinks its time to step it up a notch so when Rosemary invites Gabe to a concert he holds her hand. After the concert Gabe kisses rosemary.
I liked this movie because it had a lot of scenes from New York. If you have never been to New York. It is an awesome movie to show you about New York. It also has a lot of details about Manhattan. Like all the buildings and the streets.
I didn’t like this movie because it was kind of childish. I didn’t like the part when Gabe thought that the buildings were pirate ships. I also did not like it when the parents got back together because the mom was dating other guys and the dad took it. I think this movie was a pretty cool movie.
“Little Manhattan”
Little Manhattan had a good contrast between a child’s world and an and adults world. This movie shows just how alike children and adults can be when it comes to the opposite gender.
Little Manhattan is a movie about a young boy named Gabe and he falls in love a girl named Rosemary. The two kids have been going to school together since kindergarten and in sixth grade they end up taking the same Karate class. After that, Gabe discovers that he loves Rosemary. To him, she used to be the third prettiest girl in the class, but after he found out that she was in his class, he thought she was the prettiest.
This movie was made for not only children, but adults too. It had two story lines to it. One was the love story from the kids point of view, and the second story line was the love story from the parents. Little Manhattan is a good movie because it compares a first love with a love that needs to be fixed.
Some of the bad things about this movie was the fact that Rosemary’s parents were never really there until around the end of the movie. To tell you the truth, they looked completely different on the television than they did when Gabe met them. Plus, the board was already cracked when Rosemary punched it.
Grade: A
“Little Manhattan”
Little Manhattan is about two eleven year olds falling in love for their first time and they feel weird when they’re together because they used to believe in coodies. The two actors are Josh Hutcherson and Charlie Ray.
The two kids used too be friends in kindergarten and would always hang out together but then she moved. In second grade they made a metal curtain that would suppose to separate the boys and the girls from the boys. They met again when he joined the karate class and thought she was beautiful and fell in love with her and felt weird.
I liked the movie because it was about kids that fell in love at that age. Also because he tries to act cool but he is just too nervous and acts dumb. It is also cool because they show a lot of the nice parts of New York and it makes it look beautiful.
The things that I didn’t like were that Gabe cried all the time for anything that he did wrong.
“Little Manhattan”
This movie is Little Manhattan. It has two eleven year old kids in the city of New York. The main characters are Gabe and Rosemary.
Little Manhattan is about two kids in New York and Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) falls in love with a girl named Rosemary (Charlie Ray). Gabe has never felt this feeling before and he started this feeling this feeling when they both were in karate lessons. Gabe’s parents are splitting up and his dad sleeps on the couch while his mom is going on match.com. Rosemary’s parents are soap opera writers. The two kids knew each other from kindergarten. Well Gabe and Rosemary start going around New York together. They search for an apartment together and venture around. Then he kisses Rosemary and has a bad aftermath that he regrets.
The good parts about this movie are how Gabe’s story and his parents’ story are parallel. This movie is also not just for children. It could be for adults too. It’s cool how adults could relate to this movie about their first love. Also they could relate on how love sucks and how it’s great. It also shows how kids have fun or what they do in a city like New York. It was really funny and they could’ve made this movie really bland, but they actually made it very interesting and wanted you to stay and watch. Also it showed what the children were thinking and imagining which really run along with a kid that is 11 years old.
The low and not so great parts are how the movie seems to praise New York and show how New York is so great and never really shows too many bad things that happen in New York. Otherwise this movie was a good one I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.
“Little Manhattan”
This movie is called “Little Manhattan” And it is filmed entirely in New York. The cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Charlie Ray and others. It was made in 2005. The director and writer are really husband and wife. The actors were young and inexperienced. Their first kiss was both actors’ first kiss.
Is about two kids who are friends in kindergarten then they are divided by an invisible wall in their class; Girls on one side boys on the other. But, in the karate class that doesn’t count. Now they’re friends again and Gabe is trying to make her like him. He falls in love with her but she is kind of hesitant. When she earns her yellow belt and has to change her partner he gets disappointed. Both kids learn what love is and how hard it is to love. Gabe has parents who are split up and Gabe has to learn about Love, Girls and life.
I feel this movie is cool because it has some humor. I also like it because the kid gets hurt. I also enjoyed it because it is like real life.
I didn’t like it because it was about little kids. Also because the little kids are dating at such a young age. Their first kiss is at 11 and 10.5. That is pretty disgusting.
REVIEW FOR LITLE MANHATTAN
In the movie Little Manhattan two eleven year olds who become good friends after not seeing each other in five years. The reuniting of the two children results in bewilderment, and the heartbreaking experiences of your first love. Both Charlie Ray and Josh Hutcherson made this movie work really good.
This movie takes place in present day New York or also known as the “Big Apple”. In the beginning Gabe, (Josh Hutcherson), isn’t all that interested in girls, but after deciding to take karate he figures out what love feels like. At first he doesn’t know what to think about being with Rosemary, (Charlie Ray), but finds out he enjoys being around her. Gabe and Rosemary start to hang out more and more after reuniting, and as this goes on Gabe wants to push the relationship with Rosemary further.
I liked the movie because it’s a romantic comedy everybody can enjoy. Almost every one can relate to love and how hard it was to try to impress that certain person. Gabe demonstrates how stupid you act around that certain person, and then you can hear what he’s actually thinking when he does all these stupid things. I think that it’s a real plus side to be able to hear what the character is thinking, because every body can remember that they thought the same things Gabe. This would be a good movie for all to enjoy because it has a combination of sweetness, comedy, and romance all mixed in to one smoothie.
If they had a couple more scenes it would have improved the movie by a bunch. One thing that I think was needed was more of a closure on the ending. Another thing it needed was a little scene to tell you what Rosemary was thinking. If we could just here a little of what Rosemary was thinking then we would understand what happened a little more. Most of what I’m trying to say is that we need to know a little more about what’s happening in both their heads and what goes down in the end.
-Little Manhattan-
The movie is called “little Manhattan”. It was made in 2005. The director is Mark Levin and the writer Jennifer Flackett.
The movie “Little Manhattan” is about this boy named Gabe and this girl named Rosemary. Gabe has known Rosemary since they were in kindergarten class and so does Rosemary. They become partners and he eventually starts to like her.
What I like about the movie is how they’re so young and they’re in love. I want that to happen to me which is kind of why I like it. Another reason of why I like it is because its in Manhattan, New York I’ve always wanted to go there. One of my favorite artists lives there. Hopefully I can go there.
A couple of reasons why I didn’t like the movie are how loud Gabe cries that just annoys me. He cries as if he was five years old…it bugs me!! Another thing I don’t like is when he pukes his whole head is in the toilet…that’s nasty!! Well that’s pretty much what I don’t like.
The name of the movie was little Manhattan and it was a pretty good movie. The movie was about two 11 year old kids that are in love Rosemary and Gabe. They live in the city of New York. These two kids are the main characters of the movie. In the movie Gabe and Rosemary find out what love feels like. Gabe falls in love with her when he attends karate class and she is there when he shows up. She is the only person that Gabe knows everyone else is a stranger to him. When they were in kinder garden they use to hang out together all the time but when they enter 1st grade boys think that girls have cooties and don’t like to hang out with them anymore. The movie was a pretty good one it had all the things that a regular movie would have. It is also a good movie to watch with the whole family. The movie is not a kid’s movie but it has kids playing roles of two kids in love. Liked how the kid Gabe was narrating the whole movie. The movie had a lot of nice sites and showed lots of parts of New York. The bad parts of this movie were that they were advertising so many things like the concert. I also didn’t like the ending it only showed what happened to his parents and not him and Mary rose. All of the movies should have had a happy ending but over all I think that this was a good movie.
What movie shows the heartbreaking evidence of love and how it can effect your life better than “Little Manhattan”. “Little Manhattan” is a sweet, romantic comedy starring Josh Hutcherson and Charlie Ray. It was directed by Mark Levin and written by Jennifer Flackett. This movie is everything a romantic comedy can be.
“Little Manhattan” takes place in present day New York. Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) and Rosemary (Charlie Ray) explore the meaning of love throughout this movie. During the movie you hear Gabe’s point of view towards Rosemary and his obsession towards her. The story begins when Gabe joins Karate and is finally reunited with Rosemary. He becomes Rosemary’s sparring partner and close friend. As they start to hang out more, and more Gabe sinks into a huge crush. But that one crush soon develops into love and affection.
Altogether this movie is a tender, sappy, romantic, comedy for the whole family to watch. “Little Manhattan” isn’t one of those movies that don’t show the real side of love. On the contrary it shows all the awkward parts, and sweet parts of love. Also while Gabe is narrating the story you can kind of feel what he feels and how much Rosemary means to him. “Little Manhattan” is a movie that is unforgettable and will stay in your heart forever.
On the other hand the movie did have its ups and downs. When heartbroken Gabe cries it was not as believable as I thought it probably should have been. Although showing he was heartbroken was believable, while he was crying it seemed more like forced whining. I also thought the ending was blah. The ending never felt fully developed. It seemed something should have happened between Rosemary and Gabe.
Grade A-
-Little Manhattan-
This movie is called “Little Manhattan.” It is a fun, loving, and heartwarming story for both kids and adults. The director of this love story is Mark Levin and the writer is Jennifer Flackett. This film is a one of a kind. The film takes place in New York City in the present time. It’s about two 11 year old kids falling in love. The two 11 year olds are Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) and Rosemary (Charlie Ray). They were friends in Kindergarten and grew up together as friends, but Gabe didn’t take it as being friends he liked her as more than a friend. Until, Rosemary had to go to a camp and they had to be apart.
I liked the movie because it shows a lot of caring and shows what real love is. The film could be for adults, teens, and children. The movie actually shows what Gabe feels about Rosemary. In the movie it also shows Gabe’s imagination about Rosemary. Otherwise the movie is a family movie that’s heartwarming.
I kind of didn’t like some of the movie because I think the writer should’ve taken out the parents so it can be more about Gabe and Rosemary. Also, the movie could probably take out the other boy in the karate class. Another part is kind of the beginning part where kids thought girls had cooties. Some parts in the movie are not really worth putting in the movie. But, other than that the movie was good.
4-22-09.1 Review on “LITTLE MADHATTAN’’
The movie Little Manhattan is a very good for young love. It shows that all love is different for many people. This movie shows a different side of New York with the kids running around having fun.
In Manhattan, the 10 ¾ years old Gabe finds his first love when he meets his former kindergarten mate, the eleven years old Rosemary, in his karate classes. But, before Gabe can tell Rosemary how he feels, she tells him she will not being going to public school any more. Gabe has a lot more to learn about life, love and girls. Confused with his new feelings and with the divorce process of his beloved parents, Leslie and Adam .He experiences the delightful unknown sensation of being in love for the first time.
The first reason I like this movie is because it is in one of my favorite states that is in New York and the town is Manhattan of course. The second reason is because the lead actors are so cute together when they are at dinner together on their first date and it is really nice. The third reason is because while there is young love Gabes mom & dad are getting divorce they have to find out love all over again. The fourth reason why I like the movie is because of the boy GABE. He is trying to make is relationship to work while his mom and dad are getting a divorce and he his really cute in this movie. The last reason I like the movie is because of the way they made the movie were Gabe and rosemary go to clean New York and dirty new York form the park to karat class and the restaurant it so cool how they go to one place to another.
The first reason I didn’t like the movie is because the girl didn’t go to the school that he was going to so she could it see him and he couldn’t see her. The second reason why I didn’t like the movie is because the mom was doing match.com while her son is going thorough a relationship no a good thing for the mom. The third reason why I didn’t like the movie is because really karate class gives me a break maybe I don’t know a different class instead of that. The fourth reason I didn’t like the movie is because the kid throwing up I mean it was funny but really in a love story is it necessity. The last reason is because too much mmm signs about New York that is it.
P.s. I didn’t the movie

Manzanar Memories

The trip to Manzanar was okay but it probably been better if they didn’t split the classes up so Borat and I could chill. Besides the fact it was cold and I was freezing my butt off it was pretty fascinating. Our group’s guide was pretty cool too. First she took us to see this short film about people’s lives in Manzanar. After the movie she took us outside to the mess hall, it was small. After that we went on a tour, thank god it was on the bus. While we were on the bus the guide said something like Manzanar had a 4 miles perimeter. She was also saying that the kids that played baseball and other sport in Manzanar always had to be the home team because the government would not let the kids leave Manzanar yet. So that’s a little bit of what I learned at Manzanar.
Maureen at Manzanar

Yesterday we went to Manzanar near Lone Pine and visited the museum. I enjoyed the memorial they built to honor the people that passed away in Manzanar and the people who succeeded in leaving those camps alive, and also the museum, inside the rebuilt auditorium but not so much outside apart from the memorial.
One reason I didn’t like going to Manzanar is because they tore everything down, and rebuilt the watch tower, the auditorium, and one of the mess halls. I don’t think they should have torn down all of those barracks and the rest of those buildings. How do you think the people who were put in those horrible camps feel when they come back and nothing is left for them to prove that there even was a camp? I bet they feel pretty bad that all their memories have been destroyed, as a child or an adult.
What I did like about Manzanar was inside the museum, they had people’s belongings from Manzanar, with a tag on it that said their name. They also had a big long list of the 110,000 Japanese people who were sent to the camps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They also had a short movie on what happened in Manzanar in the movie theater. Another thing I think was a great way to honor the Japanese people who had to suffer in those concentration camps is how they created a memorial. Lots of people all around come and set hundreds of paper cranes in front of the memorial to pay their respects towards the people who died in those camps and for the people who survived.
This is how I felt about the day we spent in Manzanar yesterday with our school.
Up the Road

On Monday the twenty third we went to Manzanar they showed us some pictures and talked to us about the historical site.
The Manzanar trip my whole class took was not really what I expected it to be. They say it is a historical site but they took everything that was there when the Japanese were there. They sold all the barracks but they remodeled everything before they sold it. They have some of the barracks all the places that are around Manzanar. When we went they had a barrack there but it really didn’t really belong to Manzanar anymore it belonged to Big Pine.
They said that later at Manzanar they wanted to have a barrack that was solar powered and that showed how it changed over the years. The barracks that were bathrooms all aren’t there anymore all you see is the plumbing tubes.
All that they have now is plants. They don’t have anything that was there before. The only thing they have now that was there before is the school but it doesn’t look like a school any more they remodeled it so it can have printed pictures of Manzanar and a room that shows how big the barracks were and how they look in the inside. They also have a gift shop inside the old school.
So I liked the Manzanar trip but I just wish that they have more things that were actually there when the Japanese people were there.
Manzanar Response

Yesterday we went to Manzanar internee camp near Independence, C.A. We read the book “Farwell to Manzanar” by Jeanne Watkatsuki Houston and her husband James Houston. This was the reason for our trip. It was a fun trip, even though I almost blew away in the wind.
At Manzanar we learned about what the people of Japanese ancestry went through during World War II. When we were there we watched a movie that told the stories of the people at Manzanar. The film was interesting and I learned a lot about what happened to the residence of Manzanar. The fact that the people of Manzanar turned a place that was thrown together in a small amount of time into a more homely place is an interesting concept.
The history of Manzanar is interesting because the people who lived in Manzanar were free; inside the barbwire. The movie we watched said that the people at Manzanar were freer than people at other concentration camps.
The trip yesterday was fun even though it was windy. I learned a lot about life in Manzanar and had fun.
Our Trip

The trip to manzanar was okay. I thought it was more fun then I expected. I thought that the history of it was interesting mostly because it happened so close to where I live. But stuff like the holocaust to me is really interesting and the history of Manzanar is something like that.
I think it would have been better if the weather wasn’t so bad. I almost blew over in the wind. And they separated the grades so Greg and I couldn’t chill.
Shane's World

When I went on the school field trip yesterday, I realized how unjust the relocation of Japanese during WWII was. The complete misery of having to leave your home, with only having a few days notice, taking only what you could carry and having your past life be destroyed when you get out would destroy anybody but some how they recovered.
As we went to the cafeteria, they had recreated, I realized how hard it was for the Japanese. They had no refrigeration for the first few years and there were knot holes in their barracks and cafeterias. Under all those unbearable conditions some how Japanese made it a livable by building thing for them relaxation such as a golf course and after we went to the cafeteria.
I am grateful that none of my ancestry could be traced back to the relocation camps. Also I’m glad that the Japanese have recovered. I believe that we should learn form are mistakes.
Paulie Walnuts

The school went to Manzanar yesterday. I’m Japanese so I think I was more interested than everyone else. My Grandma and other ancestors went to a concentration camp like Manzanar. When I said that my great uncle Kenny went to the one in Nebraska the ranger said that the Nebraska camp was like Guantanamo Bay. The people gave me these papers of where I could find info about my family that went to the camps. I felt sort of connected to Manzanar.
The ranger talked about what happened when we went into the mess hall. The class got to see many pictures of how the Japanese lived in the camp. She used James as an example.
Then I tried to see how life was in Manzanar by trying to picture the book and put the picture where I was looking at. I could imagine how crowed it must have been in the building with five people. Also in the book I could see Jeanne’s father driving around in his car like there was no tomorrow. The bus drove us past block 28 which was where Jeanne lived. The rock gardens looked so cool even though they weren’t plants. It was cool how they put these rocks in a cool formation. Since it was windy I saw people in there with all the noise of the wind hitting the windows and how much dust the houses collected. All the houses and mess halls had holes in the wall and the floor. The ranger said that they even had a golf course at Manzanar, but that was later on when the war was almost over.
I think that it was unjust to put the people in the camp just because they had slanted eyes. Thank god that we didn’t do they same to every Muslim person after 9/11.
Chelsea's Thoughts...

I think what they did to the Japanese during World War Two was unjust. Putting all Japanese-Americans into internment camps was wrong. I believe they should not have kept them in the prison camps for so long. If the police and the government couldn’t see that they were innocent of giving illicit information to the Japanese then they shouldn’t have been arresting them in the first place.
While I was reading the book Farewell to Manzanar I was very sad for the Japanese who were sent there. I was also angry at the government because they were responsible for sending them there. If they were going to send all of the Japanese then they should have sent all of the German-Americans and the Italian-Americans too. But since they can’t do that, they shouldn’t have sent any of them to internment camps.
I think that what the residents of Manzanar did to the camp itself was pretty awesome. They turned it from this rundown, cruddy camp into a homier place to live. They actually made it a lot nicer than it was when they had gotten there. I really hate what they did to the Japanese but I think that because they were able to overcome it, they were amazing.
Trip To Manzanar

Manzanar is an awesome place to go when you want to know some history about the historic places that are around you. Manzanar was an apple orchard before it became a war relocation center.
Manzanar was pretty cool it would be better if the wind was not blowing that hard. I was freezing my butt off.
The bad part was that everything was gone like all the buildings and the memories. The tour of the whole camp was fun. A ranger came with us to tell us where all of the places at Manzanar, like the baseball field and the cemetery. It was a fun day.
Marco's Moments

On the trip to Manzanar the 7th and 8th grade kids were separated into two groups. The 7th graders went to watch the film inside and the 8th graders went outside were the ranger showed us the mess hall. After she showed us the mess hall the ranger took us all around the camp.she showed us the baseball field, the parks, and the cemitary.
It was to cold for us to actully go outside so we just drove on the bus looking out the window. When the ranger was done showing us some of the camp we went inside to look at the film were the people who actually were in Manzanar talked about it.Once the film was over we went to look around the building at all the cool things that were at Manzanar. Before Manzanar was a War relocaition camp it was a apple orchard. Manznar is a good place to learn about history and what use to be there before like the Indians who use to be there. Manzanar is a fun place to spend a day.
Manzanar Trip

The trip to Manzanar was better than I thought it would be. It was interesting and kind of fun. The only bad part was that we had to walk in the freezing wind. Even when we went inside we were cold and the wind was still really loud. Inside it was more interesting than outside. We saw pictures of the camp and the people in the camp. We also held artifacts from the people there.
In the auditorium we watched a film about how the camp was in the 40’s. It had the voices of some of the people that were there. It was fascinating to see some of the stuff that the Japanese used to live. We walked around the mess hall and saw all of the things that were used by the Japanese. I got a tag from the museum that has the name of a person that was in manzanar it also has some info about the person and what happened to them.
Overall it was kind of fun.
Danielle's Trip to Manzanar

On March 23, 2009 the 7th and 8th grade classes went to the Manzanar War Relocation Center between Independence and Lone Pine. For me that was my 2nd time going, it was different the last time I went. That last time there were still some of the buildings there now the only buildings there are the mess hall and the old Manzanar school/auditorium/gym.
The Manzanar War Relocation Center was built in 1942 because the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. The Americans got so scared they decided in order to avoid this happening again; they ordered 110,000 men, women, and children to go to Manzanar. Even if the people were born in America, had Japanese ancestors, or just looked Japanese they were sent off.
The people told us how they’re going to re-build the mess hall. I think they should have left it how it was so we could actually get a feeling of what it was like. Also, they shouldn’t have torn down the other buildings like the barracks. I probably would have enjoyed the trip more if there were more things that were actually there not re-built.

Metal
I also listen to older rock like AC/DC and Guns n’ Roses. For some insane reason I hate rap and hip hop with a burning passion. Every time I hear a song like that I get so annoyed. I never listened to rap or hip hop even one I was little. I have been listening to rock for as long as I can remember what music was.

Grinding Milton's Gears

You know what really grinds my gears, when I’m at a basketball game some of the players try to shoot but they always miss their shot. That is what really grinds my gears. These are some of the things that grind my gears. The thing that grinds my gears is people that are slow at doing everything like at sports, reading etc. Another thing that grinds my gears is when I’m at a theater at people won’t shut up. The last thing that really grinds my gears a lot is when people spell a word wrong and say it wrong.
Shane's View

Emanuel's World

One day Borat (Bryan) and I were chillin’ outside the bathroom when we saw a head pop out of the boy’s bathroom. We ignored it the first time, but, the kid kept peeking out of the door for a long time. He stayed in the bathroom for about 15 minutes then came out, kicked my shin and ran away. He stopped in front of his classroom, and kept looking at us. Then he ran into his classroom. We were laughing for about 5 minutes and then we went inside. We tried to re enact it but we couldn’t make it as funny as the first time.
Marco's Hopes

I hope that president Barrack Obama does a good job in the White House. Or at least better than the ex president George Bush, but doing better than George Bush isn’t very hard because, in my opinion, Bush is the worst president that has ever been in the White House. He is one of the most hated presidents.
Barrack Obama is a good president so far but it has only been a couple of weeks since he took office. Maybe he will be a bad president or maybe he will be the best president that the United States has ever seen before.
He is a pretty inexperienced president and that is why some people didn’t want to vote for him. Some people thought that John Mcain would be a better president because he has more experience than Obama. Either way if John were to be president then he would have been the oldest president yet.
Candy Grams

Every Valentines Day at our school, we do a special fundraiser called candy grams. A Candy gram is basically a valentine message that is sent with a piece of candy attached to the card. Almost every year the 8th grade does three types: friendly, super friendly, and mushy. This year when the 8th grade chose the rhymes it took a long time. But when we finally decided, we were happy with our choices. The friendly rhyme is monkey, monkey in a tree; I wish you were up here with me. The super friendly is rubies are red, sapphires are blue, you are a gem, so I’ll treasure you. The mushy rhyme is the rain keeps the flowers from dying, the sun keeps the earth lit up when it’s shining, and the night-time sky has a blanket of stars and the moon, and baby I got you! I wish they would have used this rhyme: Roses are red, lizards are green, you’re the best looking thing I’ve ever seen. The 8th grade does candy grams every year as a graduation fundraiser. This year a lot of other kids in my class are helping a lot and I (Chelsea). Now all we need is for more kids in my class to bring candy because we usually make about 3,000 candy grams. So, far I think we’ve got about 1,500 so I guess we’re half way there. I’ll report back to you when something else exciting happens.

After the Fact
Well, what can I say? We just got back from our week of vacation and my class just found out about how much money we made off of the candy grams. This morning when I asked my teacher, he announced to the class that we made over $600 from our candy gram fundraiser. That means we did better on the candy grams than almost every other class that has ever done candy grams (at least that’s what our teacher says). This is our second fundraiser this year and we’re doing really well so far. I think we have about $1,149 in our account because we have also gotten some donations. We’ve got a pep rally coming up soon and I can’t wait ‘till we get to go. There isn’t much else going on right now but I’ll get back to when something exciting happens.
You know what really grinds my gears?

And that is what grinds my gears.
You know what really grinds my gears? Those senior citizen drivers that drive about 2 miles per hour when the speed limit is 65 miles per hour.
And that is what grinds my gears.
SNOWBOARDING!

The day wasn’t exactly the greatest weather to rip up the mountain in, but there was plenty of new, soft, powdery snow to fall on (Lucky Marissa). The weather at the mountain was hecka windy and cold. We toughed it out and rocked our own socks off. Sometimes our fingers or toes went numb.
Sadly we were both with different instructors and groups until it was time to free ski or snowboard. Marissa got to go snowboarding with Jordan. To bad for Marissa, she had to stay on the bunny slopes (So did Juan). Jordan didn’t really try to make her better, but instead he stayed with the less experienced beginners. She got to just snowboard down the hill as much as she pleased, but one time when she was snowboarding down, she fell and got her board stuck in the powdered snow. She also almost ran into the pole when she got blown by the wind. Marissa got to roll in the snow a few times (Wahoo!!!).
I got to go with Harmey who took me on the bigger slopes. At first we had a test run on the bunny slopes to see who would be in the more advanced group. I got to go with the more experienced boarders. We worked our way up to the bigger slopes. When I was snowboarding down I got to eat a butt load of snow. That was not as fun as it sounds (But it was delicious). Harmey kept telling me that I should toe turn, but I was sort of tired of the taste of snow. One time Jacob went on the wrong trail so our group had to go the same way, and we lost one of our group members. We found her during lunch on our way to the cafeteria. I had a blast, even though I was almost always last.
Since Marissa and Juan were in the same group they arrived at lunch first. They were buying from the cafeteria (EXPENSIVE). Marissa and Juan bought their lunches together and it came out to be $25.33. They bought 2 pieces of pizza, fries, and two drinks. Then I arrived (UGGGH said Marissa). All we did was eat and drink (Beer just kidding). After we got full (Full of beer) Marissa had to fix her snowboard pants. While she was in the restroom Juan and I hid from her. It took her awhile to find us. Dumb, Christa told her where we were. Juan and I thought she was taking a dump because she was taking so long. It turns out she was fixing her hair (OMG what a girly girl). Then we headed down to get all our stuff and headed for the lifts.
After lunch we got to free ski or board. We both went with our friend Juan. We were only allowed to go on the bunny slopes, because you are only allowed to go on the slopes that your instructor took you on during the lesson. We still had lots of fun racing to the bottom of the hill. Marissa came in 1st place because she’s so good (Just Kidding she got 3rd). Juan got 2nd and I think we know who won (If you didn’t get it, it was ME. STUPID).
After the race we sort of had a snowball fight. We went down into the woods but it was so steep that we took our bindings off. Marissa (the blonde) was slipping so she decided to stop herself by stepping on the stomp pad when she only had one binding on. This is how she popped her hip, but she was okay (I was hoping it broke). We finally got to a spot where we sat down right next to the trail. The first thing we did was lay there and talk. Then we buried Marissa (I was again hoping she would get hurt). I decided to walk around in the three ft high snow. A Mammoth instructor saw us and thought we were stuck and we told him we were fine, so he left. We decided to get out of there before one of the Lone Pine instructors saw us. That was the end of our semi-snowball fight.
Marissa thought that she was holding back me and Juan so she went to go find Maggie (first time snowboarder). When she found her she decided to go in. These were the ten most boring minutes of her life. Juan and I raced on a couple more runs just for fun. One time we raced my brother and Gregory, but we lost by a lot. After all that nonsense happened we started getting cold so we went inside to find Marissa. We found her upstairs with Preston. Marissa suggested we go down and look at the stores. I sort of didn’t want to, but it turned out to be really fun.
Marissa, Juan, and I were messing around with the clothes and stuff. When we all got to the back of the store we saw a whole bunch of snowboards and we were just talking about how this board is better than that one. Marissa was more interested in putting a whole set of stuff together. For example she might have said that she wanted a black board, blue bindings, white goggles, yellow pants, and a pink helmet. Juan was taking pictures of them with his phone to show his mom went he got back and asked her if he could get a snowboard( his mom might let him get one online. LUCKY). I knew my parents’ answer would probably be no and even if they did consider it, my mom would shower me with questions. Marissa’s mom said she could possibly get one for Christmas if she contributed at least a little money. It would be pretty cool to have a snowboard of my own, but oh, well. Marissa also really wants one.
We spent our last 30 minutes in the store and getting our stuff together. When we were in the basket room a guy from Mammoth thought Marissa was 15 and I was 14. He thought I was tall (I’m almost the shortest one in my class. I don’t know what he’s smoking.). We had a lot of fun on the mountain and in the store. On the way back I don’t know what happened because both I and Marissa were asleep and Juan was way in the back. That’s about it for that snowboarding trip.

Strawberry Wonders, Caramel Sauce, and Hot Fudge

There are many different flavors of ice cream. Many people like the plain ones like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry; others like more exotic flavors. These are mainly mint chocolate chip, pumpkin, coffee, rocky road, cookies and cream, Cherry Garcia, kiwi, and green tea.
Ice cream has been a favorite for many people for years. It has been a hit at parties, pot lucks, barbecues and other get togethers. Many people like it on hot summer days or as a tasty dessert. Lots of people like to make homemade ice cream as an activity at some of the get togethers.
Like our teacher says “Everyone has an opinion just like they have a nose”. We believe that people have more opinions on ice cream flavors than other sweet treats. This is why we want to ask you what your favorite flavor is.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
